Olivia Tsim set a new course record of 16:20 on July 27th 2022.  The former female course record, 16:25, set by Zara Hyde-Peters, had stood since 2000.

The male course record is held by Ben Noad (14.29, 2002) and Remi Adebiyi who equalled the time on 22nd June 2022.

In 2016, on 18th May, the opening race of the SSAFA Cardiff 5K Series, Martin Rees of Les Croupiers (bib number 261) set a world’s best time for a 63-year old of 16:40. Martin came in 16th placed overall in a field of over 180 runners.

This was the fourth time Martin achieved a world best; in July 2003, he set a world’s best time of 15:00 as an M50. In May 2008, he ran 15:38 in the M55 category followed by a time of 16:17 in May 2013 as an M60.
